By focusing on 911 and emergency response—the earliest and widest point of the criminal legal system—our goal is to use this work to create transformative change that improves public health, safety, and justice for everyone.
Folks joined us from 25 countries and across 49 states to participate in our collective effort to understand, evaluate, and reimagine an emergency response system that puts people first.
Volunteers from 280 organizations and 48 Brigades logged 2,500 hours, resulting in:
- 384 Public Service Answering Points (PSAPs) reviewed
- 17 case studies
- 16 data analysis projects
- 9 prototype projects
We recognize that this is just the beginning, and that the work does not end here. In fact, we have a dedicated National Action Team of over 750 volunteers who will continue to make progress on reimagining 911 beyond National Day of Civic Hacking. It’s not too late to join our National Action Team—sign up today!
